Why a Plumbing Company That Only Does Sump Pumps?
The company started in 2011 with a plumber who kept arriving after the damage was done. Finished basements under a few centimetres of water. Pumps that had run for two days straight and given up. Weeping tile tied to the sanitary sewer, so every storm pushed groundwater into pipes that could not take it. Backup batteries that nobody had tested in years.
The April 2013 ice storm thaw, which affected more than 300,000 Toronto homes, made the pattern impossible to ignore. Older pumps burned out in 24-48 hour storm events, and sewers overloaded across the city. So we narrowed the business down to the work that prevents those calls: the right pump in the right pit, a backup for when the power goes, a backwater valve where the sewer surcharges, and weeping tile sent to a sump instead of the sewer.
Fourteen years and more than 1,850 sump installs later, that is still all we do. It is why we can publish CAD prices for every service, why we file the City of Toronto Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy for our customers at no charge, and why the same crew answers the phone 24/7.
